I've had the great privilege of having many mentors over the years. From my time in Canada with my wonderful mentor and dear friend Bob Clout, to kicking off my professional film career by working closely and becoming good friends with my childhood hero Bruce McCulloch and the Kids In the Hall when we made Kids In The Hall: Death Comes to Town together in 2010; I feel truly lucky to have had so many wonderful people to learn from so early on.
When I moved to the United States a few years later, I hopped in a class taught by veteran character actor Darryl Cox in the Midwest's leading acting studio to keep that acting muscle in shape between gigs. Darryl told me I should be teaching my own class. A year later, I was. I've been working with actors of all ages and all experience levels ever since. I was honored when deadCenter Film Festival (named one of the "Top 20 Coolest Film Festivals in the World" by MovieMaker Magazine) invited me to teach as a special guest in their deadCenter University program during the 2020 festival, where I also spoke on a panel with Icon Award winner Ryan Bellgardt.
My mentors have had a direct impact on me both professionally and personally, so I know how important it is to find a coach who not only knows and loves the craft, but one who also cares about you. I want to help you discover and enhance your strengths! What are your aspirations? What kinds of characters do you want to play? Bob Clout could always see when I was getting in my own way, and he always knew what to say to shake me out of it. Sometimes it takes an outside eye to remind us of the things we already know. Even all these years later I can still hear Bob's voice whenever I need to get back to the basics. I will never forget him, or his wisdom.
